Walka — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 February 2026

1. Introduction

Walka ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your personal data and respecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect from you, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have in relation to it.

This policy applies to all users of the Walka mobile application ("App") and is governed by the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Please read this policy carefully. By creating an account and using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

2. Who We Are

Walka is the data controller responsible for your personal data.

If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, please contact us at the address above.

3. What Data We Collect

We collect only the data that is necessary to provide the Service. This includes:

Data

Why We Collect It

Email address

To create and manage your account, and to communicate with you about the Service

Daily step count

To generate your personalised daily step recommendations

We do not collect your name, location, payment card details, or any other sensitive personal data. Payment processing for subscriptions is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store, and we do not have access to your payment information.

4. How We Collect Your Data

We collect your data in the following ways:

  • Directly from you — when you register for an account, you provide your email address.

  • Automatically through the App — your daily step count is recorded as you use the App's tracking features.

5. Legal Basis for Processing

Under the UK GDPR, we must have a lawful basis for processing your personal data. We rely on the following bases:

  • Performance of a contract — processing your email address and step data is necessary to provide the App's core features and to fulfil our subscription agreement with you.

  • Legitimate interests — we may process data where it is necessary for our legitimate interests (such as improving the App), provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.

  • Consent — where we process data for purposes beyond those described above, we will ask for your explicit consent first.

6. How We Use Your Data

We use your personal data to:

  • Create and manage your Walka account;

  • Generate and display your personalised daily step recommendations;

  • Send you account-related communications (such as subscription confirmations or important updates to this policy);

  • Respond to your enquiries or support requests; and

  • Improve and maintain the App.

We will not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion or your account is terminated:

  • Your email address and step data will be deleted within 30 days of the account closure request.

  • We may retain certain data for longer periods where required by law or for the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims.

8. Who We Share Your Data With

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may share your data with:

  • Apple Inc. — as the platform through which the App is distributed and payments are processed, Apple may process certain technical data in accordance with their own privacy policy.

  • Service providers — we may engage trusted third-party providers (such as hosting or analytics providers) who process data on our behalf and under our instruction. All such providers are bound by data processing agreements and are required to keep your data secure.

  • Legal and regulatory authorities — we may disclose your data if required to do so by law, or in response to a valid legal request.

We require all third parties to respect the security of your data and to treat it in accordance with applicable law.

9. International Data Transfers

Your data is stored and processed within the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area (EEA). If we ever need to transfer your data outside of these regions, we will ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with UK GDPR requirements (such as Standard Contractual Clauses).

10. Data Security

We take the security of your personal data seriously and implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect it against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. These measures include encryption of data in transit and at rest, and restricted access controls.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately at contact@tundealao.com.

11. Children's Privacy

The App is available to users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided us with their data, please contact us at contact@tundealao.com and we will promptly delete the information.

Users aged 13 to 17 must have parental or guardian consent to use the App, as outlined in our Terms and Conditions.

12. Your Rights

Under the UK GDPR, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

  • Right of access — you have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

  • Right to rectification — you have the right to ask us to correct any inaccurate or incomplete data we hold about you.

  • Right to erasure — you have the right to request that we delete your personal data, subject to certain conditions.

  • Right to restrict processing — you have the right to ask us to pause the processing of your data in certain circumstances.

  • Right to data portability — you have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.

  • Right to object — you have the right to object to our processing of your data where we rely on legitimate interests as our lawful basis.

  • Right to withdraw consent — where we process data based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at contact@tundealao.com. We will respond to all requests within one month in accordance with UK GDPR requirements.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection supervisory authority, at www.ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.

13. Cookies and Tracking

The App does not use cookies. We may use anonymised, aggregated analytics to understand how users interact with the App in order to improve our Service. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via the App or by email to the address associated with your account. The updated policy will be effective from the date it is posted. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
